Baconism, more rarely Baconicism, is the study and worship of Bacon. Followers of Baconism may be called one of many Church titles (see title hierarchy), or the generic terms Baconist, Baconologist, Baconicist, Baconer, and Baconeer.

[edit] History of Baconism

Baconism evolved out of Bacotheism, the belief in a conscious creator resembling a pig or hog. Some translations reveal this creator to have been occasionally called the Hog Mother or Hog Goddess. Such beliefs disappeared into obscurity centuries ago. What remains of Baconism is a community of initiates striving for Baconlightenment.David Zemkie is the formost theologian for bacon theology. His understudies are working towards universal acceptance of the one true bacon.

[edit] Common Beliefs

Baconism is divided into two main denominations, the Consumers and the Flavorless. The Consumer belief is that meditation should be assisted by the flavor of bacon to bring about a more enlightened state of mind. The Flavorless, on the other hand, have incredible reverence for the pig, therefore they despise the killing of pigs (and the subsequent consumption of bacon) and consider it heresy. The Flavorless practice meditation unassisted by bacon but with the same goal in mind as the Consumers.
